What Online Services would you recommend?
I saw this topic at the Connected Internet blog and thought that it would be nice to round up all the Online Services that we can't live without anymore. I'm not speaking about Email, Usenet or ICQ but websites that offer something that you really enjoy, would recommend and don't want to miss anymore.
There is not that much online that I would really miss because there is always an alternative to it. I really like Netvibes, the news aggregator which has a slick interface but I would be able to switch as easily to Rootly or Google Reader if the site would die. Then there is the Digital Points forum which is an excellent forum for every webmaster and I would miss it dearly.
Google of course is the one major search engine but there surely would be another one probably not as good but good enough to be used. I'm using del.icio.us and digg occasionally but those are not sites that I would really miss if they were gone.
So, I would recommend the Digital Point forum to Webmasters if I had to name one site. What about you? Is there a site that you can't live without and would recommend?
Things have changed a lot since my first list of recommendations. Instead of Digg, I now favor Reddit which seems to cater to a mature audience and less gambling of the system than Digg. In regards to Digital Points, I now favor the Webmaster World forum as it visited by professionals and that shows both in the topics that get discussed but also the overall tone on the forum.
I also like Flippa, the marketplace to buy domains or entire web projects, Rock Paper Shotgun for PC gaming news, and YouTube as I'm subscribed to a couple great channels there that I enjoy watching.

I’d recommend 4 great services:
1. Bugmenot: provides lots of usernames and passwords so you can have full access to the sites that require some kind of registration. (www.bugmenot.com)
2. Gliffy: great online webapp for drawing UML, flowcharts, networks and other diagrams. It’s flash-based and it’s “almost” free. It needs registration but you should know by know, where to find a username and password :-P (www.gliffy.com)
3. OSalt: “Open source as alternative” is their slogan. Is a search engine where you can “find open source software alternatives to well-known commercial software”. (www.osalt.com)

I’d mention:
Netvibes, RSS in general, Digg, Stumble Upon and -obviously- Blogger. Oh, yes, BitTorrent too.

I’ve been using Netvibes for some time and I think it’s a great service and I was amazed when I saw it the first time. But since Rootly suits my needs better, I started using that instead.
Another great project I “couldn’t live without” is surely Giveawayoftheday.com. These guys rock.
Free commercial software every day, that’s like a dream.
At last, when talking about search engines, I’d mention Snap.com, futuristic search engine with additional services like SnapShot.
If google were to disappear one day.. I’d be pretty sad. I rely almost soley on google search, gmail and google reader.
Other than that most websites I find have an alternative like you said, and won’t miss for very long.
